Grooming is important for the health of the animal because it removes dirt, excess hair, and other materials from the fur which can irritate sensitive skin. It also removes particles that could be harmful if they were left in the coat or fur which has been shown to lower instances of allergies in humans or animals sharing living spaces with them.
Frequent grooms will keep your pup free from harmful matts, tangles, and impaction of the coat. Matts can decrease circulation on your dogs skin which can cause bruises to form when the circulation comes rushing back when the matts are released. It is very important to keep your dog on a 4-8 week grooming schedule!
